Your outside equipment requires
plenty of space for proper ventilation
and service access.
Good: Plenty of ventilation space
Good: Plenty of room for service access
Bad: Condenser stuck in corner
Furnace vents require a 1" clearance to any combustible. Vent should enter flashing and terminate outside of the home with an approved vent cap.
Bad: Vent does not enter flashing, dumps CO in attic
Bad: Vent touches wood
Filters should be sized and installed correctly. If not, airflow is restricted, equipment life is shortened, and you will pay higher utility bills.
Bad: Filter area blocked
Bad: Filter area blocked on both sides
Bad: Filter and filter rack too small
Good: Correct filter and filter rack size with transition between furnace and rack and new plenum
